Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998, Wight Community Access Ltd., being a not-for-profit organisation, which does not use personal data for any purpose other than providing or administering activities for the volunteers who are connected with it, is currently exempted from the requirement to notify the Information Commissioner’s Office of the data which it holds. Please be assured, however, that Wight Community Access Ltd still endeavours to comply with the Act in that all personal data gathered by the organisation is held in a safe and secure manner and is not disseminated to any unauthorised organisations or individuals for any purposes whatsoever.
